Buenos Aires: Tango Show at Tango Porteño & Optional Dinner

4.6 (998 verified reviews)

About This Experience

Tango Porteño is staged in a converted art-deco cinema beside the Obelisk — a former MGM picture house from the era when tango was still considered too risqué for polite company. The building is the point: chrome, curves and 1940s glamour, restored rather than pastiched.

The production leans Broadway. Dozens of performers work through a full-scale revue backed by an eight-piece orchestra, which makes it the most theatrical of the large shows on this site and the one least likely to feel like a recital. The show starts at 9:30pm and runs an hour and fifteen minutes.

Three ticket types: admission only, admission with empanadas and drinks, or admission with a three-course dinner and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks served from 8:30pm. Seating is assigned.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.6/5 by 998 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

The show was very good and much better than I expected. The empanadas were great, and there was unlimited wine and drinks in general. I recommend it and would go back.

Perfect dance and music, excellent. The view from the top floor is really obstructed by the thick bars they put in, I wouldn't recommend that option

— Christian, Novembe

Show was spectacular. Great value for open bar on beer, wine not the best but still worth it and the empanadas were great. I ordered food, was not the best. Again, the show takes it all.
